Beauty is Pain

When I first moved here, I wrote an article about my skin care routine and how much it had drastically changed since I began living with two other girls. I believe I compared my newly intense, long, not to mention expensive skin care routine to that of Patrick Bateman’s, one of America’s finest literary heroes!…Also, a serial killer BUT serial killer’s are very meticulous, most of the time in all areas of life, hence the reason Patrick Bateman’s skin practically glittered like Edward Cullen’s. In one of the very first scenes of the movie (assuming the movie is more famous than the book) he tells the audience, “I believe in taking care of myself…In the morning if my face is a little puffy I’ll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches…After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.” So ladies and gentleman, if that’s the amount of discipline it takes to have glowing, soft, hydrated,pore-less skin than I’m going to do it!…Obviously, I mean being very meticulous about the products I use, not serial killing.
